In Acts 6:1-6, we read that the disciples appointed members of the community for the pastoral care of the community. We have a program of training for those members in our community who are called to greater service in prayer, worship, and compassionate care to community members. Our deacons carry on a ministry of presence to congregants, praying with folks, hospital visitation, and other responsibilities within our various ministries.
